Welcome and thank you for visiting my site.  I’m a philosophical counselor, educator, and writer living and working in Boston.  If you’d like to learn more about my work, see my story and credentials.

Let me give you a brief tour of the site.  There are five main branches:

1)  Be Clear: The animating theme of my blog is Philosophical Practice.  This ranges from philosophical counseling and consulting to philosophy as a way of life, non-academic careers, the adjunctification and corporatization of the university, and philosophy in public life, public policy, and the business world.  However, I also blog about a number of issues, including American culture, politics, environmentalism, and the changing face of work.

2)  Philosophical Counseling.  Here, you can learn about my philosophical counseling practice.

3)  MetAcademy.  This is a hub for information and resources about applications of philosophy outside of the academy.

4)  Socrates Café.  Here, you can find out where I’ll be facilitating my next “Socrates Café,” a community meetup group where we talk about big ideas with total strangers.

5)  Teaching and Writing.  Here, you can learn more about my academic work.
